I'd just like to second Dave's points : excellent teaching, wonderful atmosphere, fabulous setting.

And Dave - never neglect the basics! A fancy disarm lasts just a moment on the lips, but a good guard stance and fine point control will last a lifetime on the hips. Or somesuch.

I'd like to add my thanks to Phil, Ian, Milo and Kajte. Smile

Plans are already underway for Smallsword Symposium 2011: "Subtleties of the Smallsword"

In the meantime here are photos of the last two events to keep you entertained.

Dear All,

The venues have finally confirmed so the event will definitely be the weekend of the 1st and 2nd October 2011 here in Edinburgh.

The daytime venue and evening venue will remain the same (St Stephens Centre and Cumberland Bar, respectively) and we are just sorting out the details for the programme before we start taking earlybird bookings.

If you want to know more, have any ideas or would like to make a suggestion then please get in touch on smallswordsymposium(AT)gmail.com

We were so busy fencing that there are only a few photographs of this year's event but here they are anyway. They were taken with a 'phone so the quality isn't great, as were the videos.

It's a shame there are none of the hour long ballet class we had on the Sunday morning to get everybody's posture and mental attitude correct...but maybe that's a good thing Smile
